Irish Woodland in Glendalough

Glendalough is a valley with two lakes, from where the Irish name comes from. Glen means valley and dalough comes from the Irish for two lakes. It was associated with an Irish saint called Saint Kevin and a large monastery was built here. Much of this woodland is original or ancient and has never been harvested or cut down.
