Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument

New Mexico

The Organ Mountains have a multitude of steep-sided crevices, canyons and spires. The high point, Organ Needle, is about 9,000 feet in elevation. The elevation drops over 4,000 feet a mere three miles to the west, making the Organ Mountains one of the steepest mountain ranges in the western United States.
